I was meant to start this yesterday, but I was swallowed into my writing cave. First and foremost, Happy October! I can’t believe how fast the year has gone by. This is my favourite month by far, because we’re in autumn season and Halloween is coming, which is so exciting.
I even have my Halloween costume already!
It’s only fair that I do something special this month. So, I’ve decided to do the October blog challenge. Obviously, I’ve missed a day already (haha). I blame my ditziness, but for today, I’ll do two in one.
Blog Post Challenge #1 Goals for October
I solemnly swear that I’ll definitely be up to no good. 😉
October for me, as a writer, is when my inspiration is at its peak. As a dark writer, I find that October is the ‘dark’ month. The times change. The days become shorter, the nights longer. It starts to become colder, which means fires are lit, coffee is on stand-by, my wardrobe is introduced to warmer clothes and my feet have the luxury of being snug in thick socks and boots. (Finally!)
Not only that, my brain tends to come up with the darkest writing ever. This month, all editing has been put on hold, and I’m whipping up something new and tasty as a treat. This certainly is not a trick. 😉
Goal #1 Finish my new story by Halloween.
I’ve yet to announce this officially, and I won’t go into too much detail yet, but I’m doing a little something something with another author that I HOPE you will all love. All I’m going to say is, it’s very dark, very taboo, and something very hot. 😉
Goal #2 Get into the Autumn/Fall Spirit
I’ve already stocked up mine and my sons autumn wardrobe, so I can check that off the list already. The other things I want to do is activities with my boy. I want to take him to lots of cool places this month; leaf and acorn picking, fun little trails and walks. Then, I want to go pumpkin picking and do some carving. I want to make cakes and toffee apples. Pick out his Halloween costume. What I like about Autumn is that you can have fun and it won’t break the bank.
Goal #3 Have a horror movie marathon.
Halloween is not complete without a horror movie marathon. I’m talking about all those horror classics with popcorn, a pillow to hide behind and my other half to steal warmth from 😉
Blog Post Challenge #2 Thankful Sunday
I’m actually following a blog post challenge I found on Pinterest (don’t laugh). So I don’t actually get why this is Thankful Sunday. Maybe it means praying? Who knows. But I’ll just discuss what I’m thankful about.
I’m thankful for my Son
An obvious one. I’m thankful for my son. I would be so lost without him. I’m so proud of his achievements, even when its hard for him sometimes. I love his personality. I love how affectionate he is, especially when he comes and gives me random hugs and kisses. I love our little play times that involve a lot of random dancing and laughing. He makes me smile everyday. Makes me count my blessings. Makes me strive, because I want to give him the best life that I possibly can. Thank you, Aiden, for making your mummy a better person. xxx
I hope you enjoyed this blog post today. I’ll be posting again tomorrow! So, what are your October goals? I’d love to hear!
